Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece. ~ Filipenses 4:13, Nueva Version Internacional

today has been a nondescript start to a nondescript day. (i'm willing to wager) the start of this tuesday dawned nice and bright, although paradoxically nice and cold as well. tried not to trip and skid over the frost as i hopped, skipped and jumped my way over to my tutorial in the law department, of which i enjoyed quite much.

i have gotten two essays back. *hrm* they were significantly higher than what i had originally expected i would get (like, try 3 marks) so you could say that i was pleasantly surprised, to a certain extent.

the weather has been getting progressively frostier, despite the frequent intervention of the january sun. the best bit that epitomizes the evidently frosty nature of the climate up here in durham was nick brake unintentionally sliding all the way down the mini-slope that led down to the river from college. not too shabby nick, as evidently if i had been in the same situation there wouldn't have been much of me left when the slope had finished with me. not a born surfer, i am.

i miss home big time at times like these. i probably could run around in shorts and a t-shirt with flip flops right here. as andy says, it's a good time of year to retire them (flip flops). right now, they are only confined to my room, nowhere else.

so off i go, to retreat to my bedroom with pages of home all over my walls, and i'll sit in front of my computer with the radiator turned on high, playing songs from home. maybe i'll stare at some of the memories that i have in my mind's eye and smile before i pick up my bag and walk out my door to face the world outside.
