i couldn't help but giggle at the sight of mark's cute snowman, and marvel at how the snow can represent so many things to so many of us.

i like the snow, despite what other people make of me because of that. the glistening snow represents the beauty of nature for me, and reminds me of how life is so different in the place that i come from. the first time it started snowing, i ran out into the garden of my house (translate: college housing) and waited for the snow to accumulate with the rest of my housemates so that we could start having a snow fight.

in my head, there are so many things that bring back good memories, so many that i can't even begin to pen them down. but always at the forefront of my mind is the memory of home, the very smell of it, the memory of the voices that echo through it. i talked to my family today and despite the funny looks i got from everyone else around me, i can't help but look forward to getting back on home soil again.

this time next year home soil won't be home at all. in fact, i don't even know how i'm going to survive in a place where i don't know the language (ok, dialect). right now the thought on my mind is: i just want to get home.
