don't stop the music*
Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece. ~ Filipenses 4:13, Nueva Version Internacional

we had an interesting day yesterday over the whole harry thing.

right, so we had an extra ticket, and eventually we found someone to come along with us, let's call her A. now A was coming down with faz to the theatre because they live near each other, and i was making my way down myself -- all well and good. now here's when the trouble started. the long and short of it all was that someone else, let's call them B, had said that they were interested but they'd have to contact me on the day of the movie itself to confirm. now, it so happens that B didn't get back to me until like 10 minutes before the movie was due to start saying yeah i'm coming down now as we speak, at which point faz and A were already making their way down. first thought in mind was an expletive, then it was: call faz. desperately. so i called maybe 4 times, but no one picked up, so i just called till she did, and told her the whole sad story of us being double booked. somehow A was kind enough to give way and we watched the movie with B. now kids, that was a very harrowing experience and not fun at all. up till now i'm still trying to figure out exactly what happened, because some things are still quite fuzzy, to be honest. all i know is that i enjoyed the film, but still, never double book yourself. it's not fun at all.

we have a new word for the yobs who roam the streets after dinnertime, looking for places to get plastered. it's called the 'drunken hordes', alternatively 'hordes' in general. it's a cool phrase.

i met someone yesterday. the last time we met, a good friend of mine and her were opponents, and she lost. before that, she was all smiles and kissy-kissy hand actions, almost as if she was genuinely pleased to see you, but yesterday things weren't thus. i smiled and said hello, the order of the day really, it's not like that's a really hard thing to do. i mean, they don't charge for smiles here. anyway, the stuffed muppet didn't even smile! or say hello! how rude! for some people, i realise, you just can't be nice to them. either that, or they just can't take losing.

yesterday night when i turned in, the sky was already turning light -- and the birds were chirping! these birds don't get much sleep do they? i wouldn't have minded the gathering lightness, but the sound of them infernal birdy noises were a little too much to bear, especially when trying to sleep, to be quite honest. all the same though, it was a nice night, spent well, i reckon.
