guy sebastian has become a bonding point between my brother and me. to be quite frank, and no offence to all the guy sebastian fans out there, the guy (no pun intended) gets on my nerves -- quite a lot. he sounds incredibly nasal for a man of his erm... frame. anyhow, nice as his song is, and winner of australian idol as he was, and interesting as his pre-fame job was (hey kids! the correct answer is: a janitor), the male mariah carey-ness of his whole image grates on one's consciousness after a while. like, what is with the vocal gymnastics?

aiyeeeeeer.

that said and done though, i passed by california gym the other day. there were many people working out. i was separated by said people by mere panes of glass. it was not a pretty sight, mainly because, quite frankly, who wants to see sweaty bodies huffing and puffing away on exercise machines in broad daylight?

okay, just pretend i never typed that. i'll leave you for a minute with that thought.

ha ha.

ok, so now that the year's come and gone, we're all a) one year older (well, kinda), b) one year smarter, and possibly c) one year bored-er thanks to the summer holidays that have rolled round. so here are the top 10 lists that have put themselves together after my once-in-a-lifetime experience at uni. for all you know, at the end of second year there will be yet another set of lists, but till then, here's a smidgen of what i've learnt in my first year at uni. enjoy.

the durhamites will probably understand who and what i'm talking about, hehe... all in jest though, so please take with a pinch of salt. it's a place that i'm really in love with, in all honesty, and this is the most accurate version of what i've experienced over the past year. sometimes i wish it hadn't passed so fast, but then again, we've all got to move on don't we. am currently working on a singaporean version. ideas on a postcard to the usual address. thanks, 'cuz i'll probably need all the help i can get. :)
