met up with hannah the other day for lunch, and managed to catch up on some of the good humour that we all used to share back in the old days when we were young and still in the ac uniform. hah, irony of it is that none of said good humour returned to me when i actually was within the gates of ac itself a mere few days ago. in fact, it was nothing but gloom doom and bleagh-ness that i personally didn't enjoy very much. no offence to the people who actually enjoy being within the ac realm that is. i did manage to take a picture of one my favourite places though -- the toilet in the sports comm. *hoho* too bad natasha cafe, our favourite post p.e. slacking place has since moved on to greener pastures, not that i really blame them.

much of my evening was spent roaming the streets of chinatown with the boyfriend, where epiphanies abound within. seriously, no one does it like the chinese can. previously it was merely the gran's hangout, but lately it's been transformed into some funky cool night market thingy in a bid to attract all them youngsters who spend too much time in orchard road. i think i might have angered one of the stall holders who probably thought i was a very rude girl, but you know what, i don't really care. who asked him to try and hawk a bag made of used washing powder packets at me? if i want one i'll jolly well go get one myself without amateur advertising... *mutter*

the boyfriend says i might have unresolved anger management problems. haha... i tend to agree. just kidding. :)

snapped a few interesting pictures just for the heck of it really.

i was kinda laughing too hard to take this one properly... also because the lady wearing the tee was moving. plus, you can't expect me to approach the woman and say sorry would you please stand still i want to take a picture of the rubbish wording that's on your shirt so that i can post in on my blog and everyone will have a great big laugh right? well, for the benefit of those who can't make it out, the shirt says such golden words that will stay in the mind forever:

'lux spent the ride dialing the radio for her favourite song. "it makes me crazy," she said, "you know they're playing it somewhere, but you have to find it."'

brilliant, innit?

and has anyone noticed how more and more people these days are wearing the giordano 'me' shirts? i really don't understand what's the significance. here are the latest offerings that the good old tried-and-true clothing company has for us -- clothing for tomorrow.

indeed, the sight of it makes me shed a tear. no, two. *sniff*

ok quiz time kids, how to pronounce the name of the author of the 'the chosen' (featured above) which is spelt 'chaim potok'? yes i kid you not, that's the way it's spelt. call me a mountain tortoise, but i was genuinely enlightened when i found out. put on those thinking caps, first correct answer out of the bag wins a pair of dumbbells.

ok, and to prove that prices have really risen in the land that we live in, how much would you expect to pay for a packet of glitter that's about the size of your palm? given that many of us have palms that are bigger than mine, how about a packet of glitter the size of my palm? that's not very big, by the way. well, in chinatown, you can get one for the bargain price of wait for it, yes, ten, ten singapore dollars! ten big ones, nett! the joy of it all. here's the proof.

yeesh, the way things are going we're probably going to reach a stage when fifty bucks for a plate of ta mee isn't even considered expensive.

and the cherry on the cake had to be the oh-so-great reflexology place that boasted 'cupping therapy', 'acupuncture', provision of 'bone injury', and best of all, 'manipulation' (?!?!!?) to the paying customer. sometimes i think these people go out of their way to make the customer happy. such stellar service.

all in all, it was a pretty interesting adventure we had, and now i have the photographs to prove it. :P
