Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece. ~ Filipenses 4:13, Nueva Version Internacional

just got in to palace green after lecture, and boy is it cold outside. actually to be exact, it's raining and i just brought a substantial amount of it into the building. yes, i got caught in the rain again.

last night was the fresher's ball, which the four of us got ready for in about twenty minutes flat. honestly you would not be able to imagine the chaos that pervaded the house in those twenty minutes, where everywhere you turned there was jewellery, dresses, hair straighteners, bobby pins, shoes, bags, nail polish, everything girly in this world was squeezed into that short window of time to facilitate the whole grooming process.

the venue was beautiful, and more than made up for the fact that i had missed the fresher's ball last year. never mind that we had to don the little plastic tags reading 'welfare rep', never mind that we would hardly know anyone save for the precious few whom you could count on one hand, never mind that there really wasn't much welfare to be done anyway -- basically, any excuse to dress up really.

the only downside must have been the torrents of rain that were pouring down just as we stepped off the coach outside the dsu and started walking towards home. the five minute walk seemed like an eternity as the rivulets, pools and eddies in the pot-holed streets splashed and flowed towards the sewers. not to mention that we were all wearing open-toed shoes and the water was freezing cold. you do the math. other than that though, we're washable, so are our clothes, so it's all good really.

you would think that i would learn my lesson and remember to bring my umbrella out with me, but no -- that's just the way things are with me -- goldfish memory.

the week has been tiring, not tiresome. basically the events have been back to back, and for some reason i'm really looking forward to the clubbing night we've organised tonight. the adrenaline high has been building up since this morning, and not even the rain could douse that. the only thing i wish was that i was back home like, now, and that i didn't have to walk through the rain to sit in on a lecture with a man who mumbles to himself and basically makes me quite annoyed, especially when i can't hear him and my tutorial is tomorrow. yes. joy.

in other news, the final tutorial groups have come up and i've just seen the names of my fellow tutorial people, not that i know most of them anyway, so maybe that's a good thing. or not.

i'm beginning to like law gender and society. the really brilliant bit we discussed today was the work of this philosopher lady, who cunningly pointed out that "men f*ck, women f*ck, and women are most of the time f*ckees." hence, in my streak of absolute (ish) genius, does that then make men f*ckers? nice one. *silly grin* i like this class.

p/s: faz managed to procure the woman's website/whole reason of being off the net. it's interesting. go see!

clubbing night tonight! ikon! if you see anything strange, it's probably just me bouncing off the walls.
