we're more than halfway through the term as it is, and right now i'm still trying to work out where exactly all that time has gone. it's amazing how the weeks just sort of meld together, especially when all that work piled in. the last week left me feeling exhausted, as if i had been stretched too thin, like fabric over the uncovered form of life. i remember thinking on the friday that week ended that never again would i attempt to have more than two tutorials in a week, especially one that required so much time allotted to other outside commitments. come to think of said commitments, i've seen more of the dsu this term than i ever did in the whole of last year. go figure.

right now, listening to jason mraz sing love songs on the computer, it seems as if the worst is over, but for some reason i don't think so. but in the meantime, best to reminisce over the best of the week that is slightly past the halfway mark, because those make for the best memories:

monday:

-felt like a smart person at the land law tutorial. i might actually be able to grasp the subject...

-our eyes met across a crowded room. the deep blue that radiated back at me amongst the strobe lights made me remember why i smiled and blushed when i first saw him oh so long ago. the way he moved to the music made me realise that i had one more reason to admire him in the quiet of my soul. once again i know that this is more than a long shot, and all i can do is watch.

tuesday:

-tired day of waking up early and trying to pull my thoughts back together. this is when the sleep debt occurred, i expect.

-sat next to a very opinionated feminist in seminar. got quite scared. thanked my lucky stars when i eventually got out of that.

-i saw the wind rustle the leaves that congregated in the eddies, whispering to each other, flustered as the gentle caressing fingers of the wind made them blush and curl up. the streets were empty, and the lonely tail lights that lit up the distant horizon were listless, as if searching for a way home.

wednesday:

-shopping in newcastle! created a plateau of bliss that lasted the whole day. just the anticipation of going was enough to lift my spirit.

-the night was complete with parental advisory. music was good, company was good, enjoyed myself immensely. the smile on my face says it all.

-i lost myself in the music for the second time since i bothered to count, letting it mould and shape me as the beat flowed through my veins. the music coalesced like jewels on the skin, mirroring the myriad lights that filled the room. bliss.

overview aside, today felt like an anvil was weighing down on my head, which i believe was the effects of the sleep debt that i so graciously accumulated over the course of the past few days. plodded through the lectures (which didn't help because the lecturer in question is not in the least interesting), and fell asleep in front of the television again. i begin to see a pattern arising in that this is exactly what the more senior female branch of my family tends to do. hence the feeling pervades that i am about to join said ranks very soon.

tonight, a night in with my playlist and the heater on to shut out the cold that is encroaching upon the small world that goes on outside my head. aaaahhh.
