Boy dropped by yesterday after work, and i decided it would be a good idea to make him watch my favourite movie of all time, breakfast at tiffany's, a) because audrey hepburn was in it b) because she had a cat called cat c) just to hear moon river a couple more times d) just because. the phrase was 'to educate' the Boy into the classic that is breakfast at tiffany's, not to mention the way holly golightly stares at the jewellery displays while walking around all togged up in the grey light of the morning bears similar resemblance to a certain someone i know who managed that same ravenous look while munching a muffin and staring at the display in that random jewellery shop in town. but that's another story.

back to breakfast at tiffany's. the vcd just wouldn't work! apparently my vcd player has gone bye-bye ever since the computer crashed, and renu's only played dvds. so alas, technology was incompatible and we had to postpone said movie viewing to another time when Boy has more energy and computer works fine. it's at times like this when i wish i had my dad's vcd player here. nyet.

so we ended up downstairs for a bit watching videos from planet. embarrassingness to the max because every ten minutes there was a reference, don't care what reference, to you know what/you know who and i really felt like curling up and dying there. Boy was so sweet, he must have gotten it solely for the reason that anyone with two brain cells would have gotten it, but he feigned ignorance and said that he had missed the joke. instead we went to the relative no-planet-video status of my room and started talking about random stuff like the brilliant questions cat asks.

Boy: do you reckon she'll ask me whether i like you, and then i'll say yes, then she'll try and set us up?

me: you know, that just might happen. should we let her?

Boy: let's. we'll sit back and see how she fares.

*cue nervous laughter*

no significance really, just really, really dumb conversations at a random point of the night.

two days into the hols and already i'm running out of things to do. doesn't help that imran is at open day and senorita has gone home, with nat soon to follow. soon it'll just be menon and me roughing it (well not really) in the house. hopefully all this solitude will give me the impetus to err... study.
