i remember how we learnt in primary school that the reason why clouds moved was because they were being blown around by planetary winds, far and away more powerful than terrestrial winds. right now when i look up to the golden horizon, all i see are those fluffy clouds (cirrus?) making their way slowly but surely across the sky, so that the setting sun plays peek-a-boo with the rest of the world. the weather is soothing and the wind gently ruffles the treetops in my neighbour's garden. putting on the playlist with all my favourite chinese songs, it feels almost like i'm in my personal utopia, even though in actual fact i'm right here in my little room in the northeast of england. the darkness is gathering despite the fact that it is still light outside, prompting me to switch on the lamp, yet i tarry a little and watch the golden rays illuminate the cloudy sky as they sink lower and lower on the horizon. the song sings of the fragrance of an innocent flower, raising a vibe in my heart that has lain dormant for a long while. after months of wintry cold, spring has finally arrived. i watch as the last rays of the sun glance past my window and dapple the surface of my desk, before disappearing again, maybe for the last time today.

i don't rightly know the significance of this post. possibly i was struck with a poetic persuasion all of a sudden, which is strange.
