and wahey! i'm back! well, turns out that inspiration struck, so i just put the pictures together and got them uploaded for everyone (who's interested)! yup, first up, the day of my birthday:

i haven't exactly blogged about these events in general because of various reasons, but anyway, there's no time like the present, so here goes. the day i turned 22, Boy took me out for lunch after a lazy morning sleeping in, at burger king no less, just because. post-lunch, we went for a stroll along the river bank, with the sun shining and glinting off the leaves. a couple of blissful hours later (after pottering about at home), we went out once again for dinner at medici's. mmmm linguine alla crema!

the gang met up at home for movie viewing - not another teen movie, madagascar and how to lose a guy in 10 days, popcorn and all! it was just a nice time to sit together and chill out for a simple get-together. some lovely presents and a gorgeous chocolate cake later, the day had ended on a sweet note - full of memories to be treasured of my 22nd. :)

valentine's day was another experience all to itself. now, i've never actually spent valentine's day with anyone special, and i couldn't have asked for a more lovely one. lectures were on in the day (boo), so Boy and i spent the evening together. he booked a taxi to get me from my place to his, then led me into his living room, lit only by candlelight. he had cooked dinner (from scratch!) and despite the oft-repeated cliche, it was pretty romantic. there's a picture of my edward monkton valentine's day card, and the lovely rose that is now mine mine mine. even bruno the rottweiler puppy turned up to wish a happy vday :D and after all that, we had a quiet night in and watched csi. in my opinion, that was all i needed to make it unforgettable.

mary's formal! the theme was the 7 deadly sins, and presumably to give people more scope, the 7 heavenly virtues too. wal went as justice (albeit for a rather specific cause), abdul as greed (with a stash of monopoly money), renu as greed mark 2 (if you look closely you'll see the poker hands and the poker table felt thingy she stuck to herself), faiza as envy (dig the green eyeshadow), nat as lust (sexy hold-ups and all), carmen as a virtuous fairy, and i went as pride (in the form of a movie star with a hand mirror). for a touch of realism i actually went there and started painting my nails to get that true whiff of sheer vanity.

overall, it was a lovely night, and this time i didn't get caught with the water pitcher in my hand, so i couldn't get pennied! ha ha ha! an awesome night!
